In June of 2001, I ran across an advertisement for two 1967
Jaguars in Florida. One of them was the 420 as it is pictured here.
It was basically a run of the mill 34 year old car that had started to
slide towards a point of no return. When I found it, it was on the
cusp of being parted out. I bought it sight unseen, went to Florida
and my wife drove it the 600 miles back to North Carolina. Inside
are more photos of this car as it was introduced to us. |

Once in North Carolina, we started the long journey towards
turning this car into a daily driver. Like most Jaguars of the era, the
body had seen better days and the cost of a total restoration was way
beyond what was determined to be reasonable. So we set out and replaced
rubber and parts that were almost all original. We cut and replaced
sheet metal and once the paint was removed, we discovered that the car had
most likely been in one if not two accidents. |

After nearly two years of working on the 420, here are
photos of the "finished" product. This is strictly a daily
driver. We use it for our enjoyment and have no desire to show it.
It is fast, comfortable and a pure joy to drive. |
